About Raid Train Central

Raid Train Central is an events based streaming community that hosts themed raid trains quarterly to encourage creators to try out new content, or help creators find an opportunity to play a game from their backlog on stream. We are low spoons friendly community, and aim to provide a low pressure and lowkey environment that helps our members find other likeminded creators, events, and communities through our raid trains, with a central hub being our Discord server which is lowkey during our "off seasons".Our only participation requirement is that creators participate in one raid train every twelve months.

Values

Raid Train Central is a leftist community. There is zero tolerance for bigotry and our aim is to provide a safe environment for members to meet likeminded creators and communities. We are anti-racism, anti-fascism, anti-homophobia, anti-ableism, anti-bigotry, and anti-bullying.Generative AI is not welcome within our community. We have streamers across many countries that have Indigenous and First Nations people, and acknowledge that their land always was and always will be their land.It is incredibly important to us that our creators hold these same values.

A queer and AuDHD content creator! I bring my own style to “cozy” gaming, including a foul mouth and outspoken beliefs on social justice and human rights. My disabilities prevent me from holding a job, so content creation is my full time work. I also spend a decent portion of my time supporting my spouse, who is disabled as well due to his service in the military.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I apply to join Raid Train Central?

Jump over to our Application Page and read over our community guidelines before requesting to join the Discord. You will then be prompted to fill out our application for within Discord.

I've never been on a raid train before, can I still apply?

Of course! Everyone has to start somewhere and we strive to be beginner friendly!

Are there any games or content that are not allowed in RTC?

We do have content guidelines for our members. You can find that information here.

How long is a standard slot for our raid trains?

Our standard raid train slots are 2 hours (plus being live 30 minutes before your slot starts).

How long do the raid trains we host go for?

Our March, June, and September raid trains run over 3 days (the last weekend of the month) and have 36 slots. We try to be ambitious with our New Year raid train and have them go longer based on demand.

How do members set their availabilities & how is the schedule organised?

We organise our schedules via RaidPal so that everyone can see the slots in their local time (no time conversion apps needed!).
We open up slot sign-ups about a month before the train is schedule to start where you can provide your availabilities with an access code provided in the Discord.
Then, a week before the train, the coordinator team arranges and publishes the schedule.

Why don't you have slots available for immediate claim?

We want our raid trains to be accessible. We want to be able to accommodate those that juggle shift work with streaming and gives enough time for everyone to work out when they are available. It also allows folks to change their availabilities if something unexpected comes up.
We have had immediate slot claims in the past and found it was more difficult to fill out a schedule and give everyone the opportunity to be part of the train.

What happens if I experience technical issues during my slot?

First and foremost, don't stress! It happens! Feel free to trouble shoot as needed.
If it looks like you won't be able to continue to stream through your designated slot, let us know in Discord so we can line up a replacement or ask the person before you to start earlier if they can. Even if you stop streaming, we ask you keep your chat open while we find a replacement so we can still facilitate an offline raid so we can keep the lurkers moving.
If you are the last slot, you are more than welcome to wrap up early!
We know it can be super frustrating, but do not feel bad if you have to wrap up early! We would rather everyone have a good time and not be stressed during their slot!

Guidelines

Community Guidelines

  1. This community is 18+ only in order to protect both minors and adults.

  2. Be kind and respectful to all you interact with in our community. Harassment or bullying of any kind, including targeted or mean spirited messages, will not be tolerated.

  3. There is zero tolerance for any bigoted, hateful, or harmful topics or symbols. This includes jokes, comments, and use of symbols and IP that are associated with or have been adopted by alt-right and hateful groups. This includes Pepe the Frog, and Harry Potter/Wizarding World IP.

  4. Please do not DM other community members without their express permission. This includes moderators and coordinators.

  5. Please refrain from discussing triggering topics as the moderation team is not equipped to effectively manage these topics. You can find mental health resources here.

  6. Although we are an 18+ community, we do not allow NSFW, gore, or shock factor content in our Discord server.

  7. This is an anti GenAI community. Any use of generative AI in any capacity or consuming products (such as games) that are known to have used generative AI is not welcome.

  8. Self-promotion is welcome! You're welcome to share your individual streams, clips, or other community events. We'd love to hear what you have going on!

  10. No backseat moderating. If you see something suspicious or something that breaks our community guidelines, please open a ticket in our Discord.

  12. Follow Twitch & Discord's Terms of Service at all times.

Raid Train Guidelines

  1. You must be over the age of 18 to participate in our raid trains.

  2. Our standard slots go for 2 hours and you will need to be live, at minimum, 30 minutes before your scheduled slot (e.g. if your slot starts at 10am, you will go live at 9.30am). This is to allow for you to ensure that everything is running smoothly, fix any last minute bugs, greet your usual chatters, and be settled and ready to receive the raid. If you are not live within this time and have provided no notice, your slot will be forfeited.

  3. You must raid out at your designated time to ensure it is fair for everyone. You are welcome to raid out early if the creator after you is up and running, but you cannot be late.

  4. Our raid trains are themed (apart from our New Year raid trains) meaning that there are guidelines for the content you can stream during your slot. You are still welcome to sign up for raid trains outside of your usual content, but you will need to meet the theme of the train for your slot (e.g. you don't strictly have to be an art streamer to sign up for an art themed train, but you will need to stream art for your slot).

Participation Requirements

Starting after our September 2026 raid train, we will begin implementing our participation requirements to remain in RTC.We are implementing participation requirements in order to manage our numbers and better estimate raid train participation.Members are required to participate in, at minimum, one raid train every 12 months. After each of our raid trains (starting our September 2026 train), the administration team will remove members who have been part of RTC for 12 months and have not participated in any of the previous 4 raid trains.

Unwelcome Content

Pepe The Frog | Resource
As mentioned in our community guidelines, Pepe the Frog is not welcome in our community as a result of it being adopted by alt-right and used as a dog whistle and used to harass minority groups. We want to ensure that any 2SLGBTQIA+, POC, Disabled, and other minority folks feel safe. It is important that the use of this emote (and its variants) are banned from chat at all times.

RTC's Do Not Stream List

Any Harry Potter/Wizarding World Game | Resource
As a result of JK Rowling's continued transphobia, and use of her funds to actively harm the trans community and trans people, any Harry Potter or Wizarding World games are not welcome. We protect and support trans people here. TERFs are not welcome.
Phasmaphobia | Resource
There is evidence of sexual harassment and racism from a Discord administrator of their official community Discord in 2022. When the issue was raised with the developers, they were not taken seriously and dismissed.
Schedule 1 | Resource
There is evidence that the developers are bigoted. There as an achievement that promotes a racist stereotype, as well as a number of other aspects of the game being aligned with racist ideology.
Dinkum | Resource
The game developers did not consult First Nations Australian's, and there are aspects of the game that appear to have racist sentiments to Aboriginal people.
Heartopia | Resource
The developers have confirmed they used generative AI, and have not confirmed that they will stop using it.
Mewgenics | Resource pending
The premise of the game is based on eugenics, which goes hand in hand with racism and ableism.

Applications

New Application Procedure

We have applications open all year round. When we receive a new application, these are the steps to take before making a decision.

  1. Whoever notices the application first will make an initial post/thread in the applications channel and ping the admin role to inform everyone of a new application.

  2. 3 admins will need to review the application and confirm if they approve or deny the applicant (including their reasoning.

  3. Admins should remain objective when reviewing applicants. Making sure that the content we have access to aligns with our community guidelines.

Once three admins are in agreeance, action can be made on the application.

Communicating with Applicants

If we need to “interview” applicants for more information, or to advise them their application has been rejected, use the RTC Discord account or contact email. Please do not use your private account. We want all information received to be accessible by all administrators so everyone can make an informed decision on the application.

What to look for

Check their Twitch

  • Make sure they have channel rules in their about (and if not, at least as a chat pop-up). If there are no chat rules listed, make note to interview the applicant.

  • Check the games they have streamed. If they have streamed something from our Do Not Stream list, make note to interview the applicant to confirm if they are aware of the reasons why we do not allow the game.

  • Watch back a VOD or clips to get a general vibe of their content. If there are no VODs or clips, we can try to catch them live, or make note to interview the applicant - ask if they have content anywhere else that you can review.

Check their socials

  • See what they are posting.

  • Check who they a following and who is following them. (It doesn’t matter about numbers, we just want to make sure they aren’t following anyone harmful or if they are mutuals with anyone who is already in Raid Train Central).

Make sure they align with our community guidelines

  • Go down the list of our community and raid train guidelines like a little checklist to confirm

Things we don't care about

Numbers

  • We don’t care about how many followers people have or if they are affiliate (cause hey, if they’re not, we can help them get affiliate through the train!)

Stream schedules

  • We are flexible, and folks don’t need a regular stream schedule normally to be accepted.

Handling Complaints

Complaint Investigation Procedure

We only investigate complaints that are reported directly to us via email, or in our ticketing system in Discord.Complaints provided to private DMs of admins should be disregarded, but encourage the individual to make an official report. We want the complaint and all communication thereafter to be accessible and available to all administrators, and don't want one admin having to hold the weight of the complaint. We should take at least 48 hours to investigate the information we are given before taking action so that we can thoroughly try to understand the situation, and can avoid acting irrationally.

  1. Review the information initially provided, and ask any clarifying questions or request further information if needed.

  2. If the complaint is about another individual, we will need to contact this person to advise that there is a current investigation and offer them the space to provide their perspective. Review this information thoroughly.

  3. All admins must agree on the action we take before we act.

All parties involved should be provided with an explanation email (seperately for safety) at the conclusion of the investigation to be transparent about action we have taken.

Complaints & Investigations happening in seperate but aligned communities

Raid Train Central has overlap with a number of other streamer communities (in both community members, and admins) such as The Collab Hub and The Rainbow Beacon. If you are an admin/mod in another community that receives a complaint regarding someone who is also part of Raid Train Central, we do not act in Raid Train Central until we ourselves receive an official complaint through our official channels (our email or out ticketing system). If we receive an official complaint through Raid Train Central, the contents of the complaint should remain confidential and within RTC. The information is not to be shared outside of our administration team and the parties involved. If we think the matter may affect more communities, we should encourage the individual making the complaint to also report to the official channels in said other communities. We should not be a messenger in this situation in order to avoid potentially messy games of telephone.

Conflicts of Interest

When we receive a complaint, it is important to always remain objective and just look at the facts presented to us.If there is a personal element to the complaint that affects an admin, it should be noted, and that admin should take a backseat when dealing with the complaint. They can offer support but they should not be the individual taking charge of the matter if we can help it.

Raid Train Central's Coordinator Guide

Thank you so much for putting your hand up to assist with our raid trains! Without coordinator help, our trains wouldn't run as smoothly as they do!Here is a guide for our coordinators so we're all on the same track!

What are the main responsibilities for train coordinators?

Coordinators are not moderators. Our community is super lowkey in the "off season" so Admins are able to cover the moderation portion of things!Think of it like you guys are the event planners, while Admins are the security. We will have a coordinator schedule set up for each train that is based on everyone's availabilities that will assign slots to each coordinator.

Off Duty Coordinators

It is expected that not everyone is available for all raid trains. That is okay!We have an "Off Duty" coordinator role that we can assign you so you don't get pinged during the raid train.

On Duty Responsibilities

Watch over the train during your on duty slots. You should be (at minimum) lurking along with the train. You aren't expected to be a consistent chatter if you do not have the spoons, but if you are able to, go for it! You just need to be accessible if the streamer has a question or needs help during their slot.Make sure everyone is following our Community & Raid Train Guidelines. If you see anything that goes against our guidelines, please let us know in the coordinator chat in Discord. It isn't your responsibility to enforce guidelines if they have been broken, if you let Admins know, we can act accordingly.Checking the streamer up next is up and running at the required time. Streamers are required to go live 30 minutes before their slot to allow for them to get through ads, greet their usual chatters, and discover/fix any tech issues before the raid arrives.

  • If someone is not live at that the 30mins before mark (and hasn't already messaged the Discord to let us know they'll be live a little later), ping them in the Discord.

  • If they haven't responded at 15mins before raid time, look for a replacement.

Make sure everyone has the raid message. Most people are prepared ahead of time and have the raid message set up, but there are always a handful who haven't had time to set that up so you may need to dump the raid message in chat for them.Help arranging slot swaps and fill-ins. Pop is usually the only one that has access to update the Horaro schedule, but if you do arrange any swaps, if you can send them in the coordinator chat so Pop can update the schedule when they are awake.Answering questions in the Discord.
